Festivités Carnavalesques de Saint-Martin!

| LA celebrates carnival with a pretty parade reveler. |
Carnival season in the Caribbean islands are celebrations based on folklore, culture, religion, and tradition. Carnival tradition is based on a number of traditions including: wearing elaborate masquerade costumes, lively music, crowning a king and/or queen, and a number of other traditions varying by island.
The French Saint-Martin carnival began in February and continued throughout the month of March with Tuesday night celebrations. On Mardi Gras day, we saw a traditional carnival parade in the French town of Marigot, and the celebration continued into the nearby French town of Grand Case, ending with a another parade, a street carnival, music, and food.  |

We partied throughout the afternoon and late into the night with fellow cruisers and had a great time watching all the festivities, drinking, and eating ribs. We finally grabbed a taxi and made it back to our dinghies to crash for the night.

Did y'all wake up with any new tattoos?
ReplyDeleteNot yet... We will know we have sunk to a new level of "drunkenness" and debauchery when we get a tattoo and don't remember! I would hate to see what kind of designs we would pick out if we were under the influence!
