Provo.... Fit for a Prince?

While driving around the island, we came across two mega estates side by side.  One tastefully painted yellow and the other… a garish coral color.  A marina had been dug in front of the two properties, and a new estate was under construction next door.  We guessed that this must be some sort of mega resort.

We asked our resident island experts, Byron and Polly, about the properties.  We were surprised to find out the mega estates were privately owned.  The garish coral one belonged to a Texas couple, and the yellow estate belonged to… the Artist formerly known as Prince. Who, by the way, is Byron and Polly's next door neighbor!

Prince's estate was purchased in 2011 and includes a 10,000 square foot house with 8 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.  The estate includes a private marina, gym, home theater, tennis court, infinity pool, tropical gardens, and an additional guest house and staff house.  The house is situated on two iron shore peninsulas with private beaches with beautiful views.

It is accessed by a sweeping driveway with locked access gates AND... his driveway is painted purple!  I guess this is okay since this is probably the "estate that purple built"... Purple Rain, that is!

Hi, guys - another blog says the coral-colored house next door is Villa Mani, and it's available as a vacation rental. Ah, yes, lifestyles of the rich and famous. :-) http://villamanitci.com/
